ABOUT US
Hawaii Go Camps is a newly established 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the ancient game of Go (also known as Baduk) to young people around the world.
The camp is being organized by Myungwan Kim 9P, a current Korean Baduk professional now living in Honolulu, together with Sidney Kobashigawa, an amateur 6 Dan who also serves as president of the Honolulu Go Club and Sabrina Barcus, founder of Go Seigen Institute and former San Francisco Go Club treasurer. Their shared vision is to create a space where young people can experience high-quality instruction while also discovering the joy of international friendship.
OUR PROGRAMS
We host an international youth Baduk camp in Honolulu, Hawaii annually, welcoming participants from across the globe.
What makes Hawaii Go Camp special is its program, which blends expert instruction, cultural exchange, and the beauty of Hawaii into a single experience. Children and teens will not only learn from world-class teachers but also meet peers from around the world, sharing games, stories, and traditions. More than a camp, it is a bridge between cultures, a place where the next generation of players can grow in skill, confidence, and global understanding.
We believe that Go is more than just a game. It is a way to develop patience, creativity, and resilience, qualities that serve youths in every area of life. Hawaii, standing between East and West, offers the perfect setting for this vision—an island of natural beauty and cultural diversity that reflects the international spirit of the camp itself.
